<p>The department strongly believes that that all children should be supported whilst growing up, so they can thrive and reach their potential in a safe and respectful environment. We recognise these issues are complex and sensitive matters to navigate. Schools and school leaders are well placed to work with parents, pupils and the appropriate range of public services available to support individual children.</p>
