<p><strong> </strong>There is a long-term downward trend in the concentration of most pollutants surrounding major airports. Air pollution is the top environmental risk to health in the UK and the government remains determined to improve air quality. Our recent consultation on a new aviation strategy included proposed measures to ensure that aviation’s contribution to local air quality issues is properly understood and addressed.</p>
