<p>DFID has introduced tough reforms to deliver good value for money for UK taxpayers.
DFID is on track to deliver almost £500m in efficiency savings by 2019-20, higher
than the £400m target set in the 2015 Spending Review.</p><p> </p><p>The majority
of these savings have been driven by more effective procurement practices.</p><p>
</p><p>DFID’s <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/816172/DFID_annual_procurement_and_commercial_report1.pdf"
target="_blank">Annual Procurement and Commercial Report</a>, which was published
in July 2019, outlines some of the steps taken to deliver value for money.</p><p>
</p><p>These efficiency savings have been used to deliver further aid programming,
meaning that DFID delivers the maximum impact for UK Aid, continues to lead the fight
against global poverty and contribute toward the global goals.</p>
