<p>The Department collects information from each local authority on the number of
school places as part of the annual school capacity survey. Data relating to the position
in the 2017/18 academic year will be published in the new year.</p><p>Data for May
2017 (relating to academic year 2016/17) can be found at:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/school-capacity-academic-year-2016-to-2017"
target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/school-capacity-academic-year-2016-to-2017</a>.</p><p>The
data shows that on 1 May 2017 there were 31,518 primary school places and 29,759 secondary
school places in Barnet.</p><p> </p>
