answer text <p>On 3 November the Cabinet Office made a Written Ministerial Statement stating that the inquiry would take a statutory form, under the Inquiries Act 2005, and that Cabinet Office would be the sponsoring department.</p><p> </p><p>The Terms of Reference of the inquiry will therefore be agreed between Cabinet Office Ministers and the inquiry Chair. A statutory inquiry held under the Inquiries Act 2005 has the power to compel witnesses to share relevant files and give evidence.</p><p> </p><p>Officials are working with the former infected blood payment schemes to confirm arrangements for the long term storage and access to records once the schemes have closed.</p> more like this

answer text <p>As part of the discretionary support arrangements being put in place under the England Infected Blood Support Scheme (EIBSS), being run by NHS Business Services Authority, any beneficiary who is not entitled to receive free prescriptions will be able to apply for a pre-payment certificate which will be paid for by the EIBSS; this provision will not be means tested. answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Health approves independent sector providers to perform abortions and all providers must agree to comply with the Department’s Required Standard Operating Procedures (RSOPs). Under the RSOPs set:</p><p> </p><p>- Women should be offered an appointment within five working days of referral or self-referral;</p><p> </p><p>- Women should be offered the abortion procedure within five working days of the decision to proceed; and</p><p> </p><p>- The total time from access to procedure should not exceed ten working days.</p><p> </p><p>These good practice standards are in line with clinical guidance from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.</p><p> </p><p>Women can choose to delay appointments/booked procedures and this should always override issues of timeliness.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department currently has no plans to change the list of medical conditions which provide for exemption from prescription charges because arrangements exist to ensure that prescriptions are affordable for everyone. A broad range of prescription charge exemptions are in place, for which someone with a long-term condition may qualify. To support those with greatest need who do not qualify for an exemption, prescription prepayment certificates are available. A holder of a 12 month certificate can get all the prescriptions they need for just £2 per week.</p> more like this
