answer text <p> </p><p>Apprenticeship reforms are addressing exactly the barriers that employers have identified to taking on apprentices.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Trailblazers led by employers are designing the new Apprenticeship standards for occupations in their sectors. Horticulture employers are fully engaged in the reform programme and the Trailblazer for the sector has recently submitted a standard for approval.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The budget announced £170 m funding to extend the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers to help smaller businesses take on young apprentices aged 16-24. This will fund over 100,000 incentive payments of £1,500. answer text <p>The Regeneration Investment Organisation (RIO) is actively working on several investment opportunities in Northern Ireland with a gross development value of around £3 billion. The team has held commercial dialogue with overseas investors for some of these schemes.</p><p>The RIO team has a dedicated Regional Project Manager who engages with development opportunities in Northern Ireland, works closely with Invest Northern Ireland and helps projects advance to a stage where they would be able to attract overseas investment.</p><p>There is also official representation from Northern Ireland on the Regeneration Investment Advisory Board (RIAB), a group consisting of Industry and Government specialists set up to provide strategic advice and oversight of RIO activity.</p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>In the Careers Inspiration Vision Statement, launched in September 2013, we stated that we believe employers and schools must do more in partnership together and that the best mentoring and motivation comes from people in jobs. The revised statutory guidance to schools on careers reflects this. We have been working with key organisations that deliver inspirational careers activity. answer text <p> </p><p>Higher education Institutions already have a duty to make reasonable adjustments for disabled students under the Equality Act 2010. The recently announced changes consider how the balance of responsibility between reasonable adjustments and support provided through Disabled Students Allowances (DSAs) should change. DSAs will remain available for students to complement the reasonable adjustments provided by the institution.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government also provides annual funding to Higher Education Institutions through the teaching grant. The Student Opportunity Fund is part of the overall Teaching Grant allocated to Higher Education Institutions by HEFCE. This funding element to support disabled students rose to £15 million for 2013/14, an increase of £2 million on the previous year and has been maintained for 2014/15. There are no plans to transfer additional funds.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government is giving more schools greater flexibility to adapt the shape of the school year in the interests of their pupils' education.</p><p> </p><p>Whilst this will extend an existing flexibility to a greater number of schools, our advice will continue to include a clear expectation of schools working with each other and the local authority to coordinate dates to avoid unnecessary disruption to parents and their employers.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has consulted with representatives of the tourist industry. Where schools choose to change their holiday dates, following discussion locally with parents and local businesses, there may well be a positive impact on seaside economies. In areas of high-seasonal employment, for example, small variations to term dates agreed locally may help parents to holiday outside of peak periods.</p> more like this
