answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/04/2024 answer text <p>We are committed to continue to improving water quality and are delivering the record investment, the stronger regulation and the tougher enforcement to improve our water for our own health, for nature and the economy. For example, on 20 February we announced plans to more than quadruple Environment Agency (EA) water company inspections, strengthening oversight, reducing the reliance on self-monitoring.</p><p> </p><p>The EA is conducting a major investigation into potential widespread non-compliance by water and sewerage companies at sewage treatment works and has issued 7 warning letters to Anglian Water this financial year for serious or significant offences.</p><p> </p><p>Through the Asset Management Plan (AMP), Anglian Water have an obligation to improve their water recycling centres to good ecological status under the Water Framework Directive. A total of 41 phosphorous and 3 ammonia improvements will be delivered by March 2027. A total of 56 phosphorous, 1 ammonia and 1 BOD improvements are planned between 2030-2035.</p><p> </p><p>In June 2023 Omex were fined £510,190 for their pollution of the River Witham. Omex have spent over £3 million in making good damage caused by their pollution, including river remediation works under the Environmental Damage Regulations.</p><p> </p><p>Finally, the EA also work closely with external partner organisations to deliver projects that have benefits around water quality, with regional examples including Water Friendly Farming and the Limestone Becks restoration.</p> answering member constituency Keighley answering member printed Robbie Moore question first answered 02/04/2024 12:27:29 answering member 4861 label Biography information for Robbie Moore

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/03/2024 answer text <p>In England, the majority of bus services outside London operate on a commercial basis. Where commercial service provision is insufficient to meet the needs of local communities, local authorities can subsidise bus services where this represents value for money. This ensures that service provision is aligned with local needs.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises the importance of local bus services to ensuring communities can stay connected, including in rural areas, and has announced over £4.5 billion to support and improve bus services since 2020.</p><p> </p><p>The over £4.5 billion includes:</p><p>o £2bn pandemic funding between March 2020 and June 2023, followed by £300m in further service support until April 2025 (of which £160m is BSIP+ (not included in the £2bn BSIP funding below) and £140m is BSOG+ funding);</p><p>o £2bn Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding, including £1bn for LTAs in the North and the Midlands recently reallocated from HS2 (of which we have already announced allocations for the first £150m in 2024/25 and allocations for 25/26 onwards will be published in due course);</p><p>o Nearly £600m of funding for the £2 fare cap until the end of 2024.</p><p> </p><p>From the Bus Service Improvement Plan funding, Lincolnshire County Council has been allocated over £8.5 million so far. The Department’s guidance to local authorities on developing their BSIPs explains that these must cover their full area and all local bus services within it. This funding should, therefore, benefit services in South Holland and the Deepings.</p><p> </p><p>The Government also makes over £200 million available to bus operators every year through the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) to help them maintain their network. A further £42 million in BSOG funding is provided directly to local authorities to help subsidise socially necessary bus services that might otherwise be commercially unviable, helping to support rural bus routes. Lincolnshire County Council receives £535,302 of this funding every year.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is also providing £20 million through the Rural Mobility Fund in England to trial 16 innovative demand responsive minibus services to better understand the challenges associated with introducing bookable bus services in rural and suburban settings.</p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency Hexham answering member printed Guy Opperman question first answered 07/03/2024 11:20:18 answering member 4142 label Biography information for Guy Opperman

In the East Midlands, there were an estimated 192,000 leasehold dwellings.</p><p>Due to methodological limitations, the statistics cannot show robust estimates at a sub-regional level.
