The response has been hampered by numerous attacks against health workers and health facilities. The UK strongly condemns such attacks, while commending the bravery of all the health workers working tirelessly to end the outbreak. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>DFID is concerned by the impact of the drought in the East and Horn of Africa and has taken early action across the region to save lives.</p><p> </p><p>In Somalia, the UK is at the forefront of the humanitarian response delivering vital water, shelter, nutrition and food and supporting over one million people in the ongoing relief effort. In Ethiopia, DFID continues to support the Government of Ethiopia’s Productive Safety Net Programme that reaches 8 million chronically food insecure people in drought affected regions with conditional cash transfers. In Kenya, DFID supports the Government of Kenya’s Hunger Safety Net Programme, which also provides cash transfers to some of the poorest households reaching 720,000 people.</p><p> </p><p>DFID will continue to support communities and states in the east and Horn to build resilience to crises and shocks. We will continue to monitor the situation and press the international community to commit further support where it is needed. We congratulate Dr. Abdalla Hamdok on his appointment as Prime Minister of Sudan and commend his commitment to freedom, peace and justice. The UK also commends the role of the African Union and Ethiopia in their efforts to support the mediation that has helped to deliver this agreement. The UK is fully supportive of the core principles of the Decent Work Agenda as enshrined by the core rights outlined in the ILO Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.</p><p> </p><p>The UK provides support to initiatives such as the UN Global Compact and the Ethical Trade Initiative who work to ensure jobs in global supply chains are high quality ones, where human rights are respected, and health and safety is safeguarded.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is committed to supporting compliance with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. The implementation of this guidance will be made mandatory for the biggest importers in the EU via the EU Regulation on the Responsible Sourcing of Conflict Minerals. This will come into force in January 2021. We are committed to extending geographic mobile coverage to 95% of the UK, as well as providing an uninterrupted mobile signal on all major roads, and we are considering all of the options available to facilitate this.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is working closely with the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to consider their proposal for a Shared Rural Network.
