answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>The UK Government remains focussed on ensuring a smooth and orderly withdrawal from the EU with a deal as soon as possible. However, as a responsible government, we continue to prepare for all scenarios.</p><p>The Law Enforcement and Security (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 were made in April 2019 and make the necessary legislative changes to prevent the diversion of drugs precursor chemicals to the illicit market and to allow for the legitimate trade in these substances to continue in the event of a no deal.</p><p>A Technical Notice was published on GOV.UK in September 2018 advising companies of the change in requirements in the event of a no deal and we have contacted the relevant trade bodies to disseminate the message to their members. <br>The Government continue to engage with industry trading in these substances to ensure they are aware of the new rules and processes that would apply if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.</p> answering member constituency North West Hampshire answering member printed Kit Malthouse question first answered 03/09/2019 16:30:44 answering member 4495 label Biography information for Kit Malthouse

It has laid Statutory Instruments (SIs) for 18 priority geographic and thematic sanctions regimes under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act (2018). Retained EU law will maintain the remainder as the Government continues to lay SIs; all sanctions regimes will be under domestic legislation by the end of the year. We have also reviewed and strengthened all our individual designation evidence and prepared processes for the efficient and robust operation of our sanctions. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/07/2019 answer text <p>Earlier this year my officials progressed a Statutory Instrument through Parliament which ensures that the UK’s existing regulatory regime for ship and port security will continue to function effectively after EU Exit.</p><p> </p><p>The Statutory Instrument will enter into force on the day on which the UK leaves the EU. This Statutory Instrument includes provisions which enable the Government to continue to issue pre-arrival notification (PAN) exemptions to operators of vessels travelling on scheduled services from the EU into the UK after our withdrawal from the EU, even in a no deal scenario.</p><p> </p><p>Vessels travelling from the UK into the EU following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU will need to provide the necessary pre-arrival security information for scheduled routes. Government has communicated widely with operators and has provided advice to them about the change. We have introduced the Merchant Shipping (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019. The regulations correct deficiencies in domestic legislation that would otherwise have existed as a result of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>Following the no-deal technical notice published on 23<sup>rd</sup> August 2018, the Government laid the draft State Aid (EU Exit) Regulations on 21 January 2019. The draft Regulations make amendments to the retained EU law on State Aid, where appropriate to correct deficiencies, in accordance with the powers in the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. These draft Regulations transfer the State Aid regulatory functions of the European Commission to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).</p><p> </p><p>The draft Regulations were approved in the House of Lords on 14 March and debated by the Delegated Legislation Committee in the House of Commons on 10 April. These SIs were passed on 4<sup>th</sup> March 2019 and will come into effect on exit day in the event of no-deal. These SIs ensure that we are upholding the commitment not to roll back workers’ rights as we leave the EU.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has prepared guidance for businesses and individuals to help prepare for a no-deal exit from the EU. This includes guidance on employment rights.
