Schools receive general funding for all curriculum provision, including Physical Education (and by extension swimming and water safety lessons). This funding is not ring-fenced or split by subject and schools have the flexibility to allocate their funding to deliver a diverse curriculum which best suits the needs of all their pupils.</p><p>Schools can also choose to use their share of the £320 million Primary PE and Sport Premium to support swimming and water safety. The premium can be used to fund the professional development and training available to schools to train staff to support high quality swimming and water safety lessons for their pupils.</p><p>The premium can also be used to provide additional top-up swimming lessons to pupils who have not been able to meet the national curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety following the delivery of core swimming and water safety lessons.</p><p>The department does not collect data on the proportion of primary school children who have received swimming and water safety lessons. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/07/2019 answer text <p>The Government remains focused on ensuring our smooth and orderly withdrawal from the EU, with a deal, as soon as possible.</p><p> </p><p>Leaving without a withdrawal agreement remains the legal default at the end of the extension period, and as a responsible Government we have been preparing to minimise any disruption in the event of no deal for over two years.</p><p> </p><p>In light of the agreed extension to the EU departure date, departments are making pragmatic decisions about the timing and pace at which some of this work is progressing. We continue to prepare for all exit scenarios.</p><p> </p><p>Defra has put in place a range of mitigations to minimise any disruption arising from leaving the EU without a deal. This has included creating six new IT systems, ensuring necessary legislation was passed, and setting up a Business Readiness Directorate to support increased levels of stakeholder engagement.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We have also taken extensive steps to provide businesses and citizens with advice and guidance aimed at helping to mitigate the potential impacts of no deal. The Home Office has been planning and preparing for a no deal scenario ensuring we have contingency plans in place across areas including law enforcement, passport operations and the border. <br> <br>We have taken extensive steps to provide businesses and citizens with advice on helping them mitigate the potential impacts of a no deal exit. We are putting in place a range of mitigations, these include:</p><p>- leading a procurement exercise to secure an ‘express freight service’, with the aim to secure transport of small medical supply consignment into the United Kingdom within the 24 hours if the UK leaves the European Union without a deal;</p><p>- changing or clarifying regulatory requirements so that companies can continue to sell their products in the UK if we have ‘no deal’;</p><p>- working with industry to improve trader readiness in preparation for the new customs procedures that will come into force on day one if we leave the EU without a deal; and</p><p>- advising travellers to ensure they have comprehensive travel insurance.</p><p>HM Treasury has allocated over £4.2 billion of additional funding to departments and devolved administrations for EU exit preparations so far.
