We are committed to helping parents into work.</p><p> </p><p>To overcome this barrier to employment, Universal Credit claimants are able to claim up to 85 per cent of their childcare costs, compared to 70% on the legacy system. This can be claimed up to a month before starting a job, and can be worth up to £13,000 a year for families with two children.</p><p> </p><p>Over the last few months we have been trialling a more flexible approach to parents who do not report their childcare costs on time. Total trade in goods and services between the UK and Germany amounted to £132.7 billion in 2018.</p><p> </p><p>In August 2018, my Rt Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for International Trade launched the Export Strategy, through which the Government plans to increase UK total exports as a proportion of GDP to 35% and make Britain a 21st century exporting superpower. Germany will be a priority market for this strategy. Since the European Social Charter came into force in the UK we have introduced a number of policy and legislative reforms that provide equivalent or greater protections for individuals in the field of equal pay.</p><p> </p><p>We have also ratified a number of international conventions which provide equivalent protections and which the UK has implemented via national legislation.</p><p> </p><p>We are fully committed to the Equal Pay protections in the Equality Act 2010. In 2014, we introduced equal pay audits for when employers are found to have breached equal pay law and in 2017 we introduced gender pay gap reporting.</p><p> </p><p>Our equal pay legislation complies with EU requirements, which are reflected in Article 4.3 of the European Social Charter. An offender on an IPP licence is not recalled automatically when he is charged with a further offence or offences. The probation officer will consider whether the alleged further offences, prior offending and the offender’s current behaviour show that his risk has escalated to the point where he needs to be recalled to protect the public. The decision on whether to recall an offender is to be based on a robust assessment of risk and to reflect the professional judgment of a trained probation officer.</p><p> </p><p>The NPS has undertaken an urgent review to establish why Mr McCann was not recalled to custody, either when remanded into custody on 21 August 2017 or when he was sentenced on <ins class="ministerial">25 January 2018</ins> <del class="ministerial">15 February 2018</del>. Mr McCann has now been charged with a number of very serious offences committed on or after 21 April this year.
