answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/04/2019 answer text <p>The Housing and Planning Act 2016 introduced a range of additional powers to help local authorities tackle rogue landlords and drive up standards. These powers came into effect at different times during the last three years.</p><p><br>It is Government practice to review the impact of legislation within three to five years of implementation. This period allows measures to embed and take effect so that impact can be measured and assessed. This does not break down the number of deaths by religion. The Government is committed to reducing homelessness and rough sleeping. No one should ever have to sleep rough. That is why last summer we published the cross-government Rough Sleeping Strategy. This sets out an ambitious £100 million package to help people who sleep rough now, but also puts in place the structures that will end rough sleeping once and for all. The Government has now committed over £1.2 billion to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping over the spending review period.</p><p>In it’s first year, the Rough Sleeping Initiative provided over 1,750 new bed spaces and 500 staff.</p><p>It should not happen that people die prematurely and on the street because they are homeless. Whilst we recognise that suitable housing is a key part of the solution, health services have a significant role to play, alongside other public services. The MHCLG is working with the DHSC to ensure that rough sleepers have the health care they need, when they need it. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/04/2019 answer text <p>In the year ending March 2017/18, there were 2,501 stop and searches conducted in England and Wales under Section 60 (s60) of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. DFID has undertaken a detailed prioritisation exercise to assess the internal resource required to maintain essential delivery. For DFID, this entails meeting the legal commitment to spend 0.7% of GNI (Gross National Income) on international development in an effective and value for money way and the ability to respond to humanitarian emergencies. All other DFID business is highly important however officials have taken decisions to slow or pause delivery in order to support the EU exit related resource requirements of other government departments. The Department for International Development (DFID) is a long-term supporter of the International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling Alliance (ISEAL Alliance), the umbrella organisation for standards systems such as Fairtrade. DFID also supports the Ethical Trading Initiative, a multi-stakeholder body working with the UK food industry, their suppliers, trade unions and charities to implement International Labour Organisation standards in global value chains, including cocoa value chains. Our work on responsible investments focuses on a range of priorities, including improved conditions in the agriculture sector.</p><p> </p><p>DFID is also at the forefront of the UK’s international efforts to implement the Prime Minister’s 2017 “Call to Action to end Forced Labour, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking”. This is a crucial part of our efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 8 on ending modern slavery. In 2017 the UK Government committed to doubling aid spending to tackle modern slavery to £150 million. The Commission is continuing to investigate the circumstances and the operators could still face regulatory action.
