answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/04/2019 answer text <p>I chair the National Retail Crime Steering Group (NRCSG) which brings together partners including the police, trade bodies and retailers and is overseeing a range of work to tackle retail crime. This includes the collation and dissemination of good practice and developing guidance on the use of Impact Statements for Business, which give victims of business crime the opportunity to set out the impact the crime has had on the business, including, for example, financial loss. The NRCSG also continues to work with retailers to improve the management and response to shop theft using a partnership approach.</p><p>Where shop theft involves anti-social behaviour, local areas may use the tools provided for by the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Where appropriate, this may include the Community Remedy, which gives victims of low-level crime and anti-social behaviour a say in the punishment of perpetrators who receive an out of court punishment, and the Community Trigger, which gives victims of persistent anti-social behaviour the ability to request a formal case review.</p><p><br>The powers are deliberately local in nature, and it is for local agencies to determine whether their use is appropriate in the circumstances. That is why the Taxation (Cross-Border Trade) Act enables the UK to put in place a trade preferences scheme for developing countries, granting duty-free, quota-free access to 48 Least Developing Countries and granting tariff reductions to around 25 other developing countries. This is critical to achieving Global Goal 17. Officials in London and at the Embassy in Jakarta press the Indonesian authorities to address legitimate human rights concerns, including upholding the right of all citizens to protest peacefully, and promote the sustainable and equitable development of the provinces.</p><p> </p><p>I met the Indonesian Ambassador in January and raised Papua with him. The Ambassador raised the recent violence in Nduga Regency with senior officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in January and called on the Indonesian authorities to ensure that any security response was proportionate. These include mandatory, additional and selective licensing as well as civil penalties of up to £30,000, rent repayment orders and banning orders for those landlords who refuse to comply with the law.</p><p>We have also recently extended mandatory licensing of HMOs. Mandatory licensing is recognised to have improved safety and property standards in HMOs, the extension will bring an additional 170,000 properties within scope of mandatory licensing.</p><p>In addition, the Government is currently refreshing guidance for local authorities in order to help them better use these powers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/04/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to the safe and effective regulation of medicines in the United Kingdom; we continue to strengthen safety while ensuring patients and the public have fast access to new, innovative medicines.</p><p> </p><p>On 7 March 2019, Parliament voted to agree legislation that would, in the event the UK left the European Union without a deal, amend the UK’s regulatory framework for the safe supply of medicines to the UK.</p><p> </p><p>This legislation would see the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency take on the functions currently undertaken by the EU and operate as a standalone regulator for human medicines on the UK market.
