Cybersecurity is included in induction training for all personnel and messages are regularly repeated, including through annual general security briefs, by direct promulgation of cybersecurity awareness material and through continuously available awareness material. Guidance on security culture, including cyber security and managing digital footprints, is also available to staff through the Department’s intranet.</p><p>The Department runs cyber security sessions as part of the ‘Core Curriculum’ – a learning and development programme that is designed and delivered internally, based on the needs of MHCLG staff. Guidance on security culture, including cyber security and managing digital footprints, is available to staff through the Department’s intranet.</p><p> </p><p>All Departmental staff are required to undertake learning related to the handling and protection of information and safe online practice at the point of induction and also on an annual basis. This course is designed to make civil servants aware of their responsibilities when it comes to handling information, being alert to the dangers of fraud, ensuring information is protected and handled responsibly without preventing it from being shared appropriately, and how best to protect themselves and the information they hold when they are working remotely on online.
