The Cabinet Office is currently on track to transfer records on time as we transition to the 20 year rule. This year we will open records from 1995 and 1996 in compliance with the Public Records Act.</p><p>However, the Cabinet Office does not hold information about the number of individual records held so this figure could only be provided at disproportionate cost by counting each individual record. As with the 2018 pilot scheme orders they will be published on <a href="https://gov.uk/" target="_blank">GOV.UK</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The success of the voter ID pilots in May 2018 proves that voter ID is a reasonable and</p><p>proportionate measure. A diverse range of local authorities will be taking part in voter ID pilots for the 2019 local elections. Based on the public opinion survey of the 2018 pilots there is no indication that the ID requirement impacted the intention to vote for any consistent specific demographic group across the 2018 pilot authorities.</p><p> </p><p>The local authorities taking part in the 2019 voter ID pilot scheme are conducting equality impact assessments to ensure that the potential impacts of the scheme on their voters are understood, and that mechanisms to support voters can be put in place where necessary.
