answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/12/2018 answer text <p>Everyone in the UK should have the opportunity to progress and fulfil their potential in employment, to benefit both the individual and the wider economy. Despite accounting for just under half of all employees in the UK, women are more likely to be in low paid work than men.</p><p>The Government has an aspiration to end low pay, and next year it will set out the Low Pay Commission’s remit from 2020 onwards.</p><p>The National Living Wage (NLW) benefits a higher proportion of women than men. In April 2019, the NLW will increase by 4.9% to £8.21. This is an increase to a full-time minimum wage worker’s annual earnings of over £690, making progress on the government’s objective for the NLW to reach 60% of median earnings by 2020.</p><p>We will be publishing a strategy in the Spring on gender equality and economic empowerment that will include consideration of how we can best support low paid women.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 20/12/2018 16:03:50 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/12/2018 answer text <p>Making sure that young people and parents or carers can give informed consent is an important aspect of the work undertaken when young people request a physical intervention for gender dysphoria. NHS England has published a service specification ‘NHS Standard Contract for Gender Identity Development Service For Children And Adolescents’ which refers throughout to the input of parents/carers and families. A copy of this service specification has been attached.</p><p> </p><p>For young people of 16 and under, consent to treatment should usually be sought from the child and from one or both parents, except under exceptional circumstances. For adolescents over 16, if it is concluded that they have sufficient understanding of what is to be offered (this is known as ‘Gillick’ or ‘Fraser’ competence), they may give their own consent to treatment, although under most circumstances, it is good practice to seek parental assent too. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/12/2018 answer text <p>Domestic wood and coal burning are the single largest contributors to our harmful particulate matter (PM) emissions. These sources accounted for 38% of total PM2.5 emissions in 2015 and are forecast to account for 41% by 2020.</p><p> </p><p>The draft Clean Air Strategy, which we consulted on earlier this year, included plans to introduce legislation in England to phase out the most polluting domestic fuels. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/12/2018 answer text <p>Steps to tackle National Health Service prescription fraud include the introduction of Real Time Exemption Checking (RTEC) technology, which will enable pharmacies to confirm a person’s eligibility for free NHS prescriptions, prior to dispensing their prescription items. RTEC is due to be piloted in 2019. Prior to the introduction of RTEC, prescription exemption checking is being undertaken retrospectively by the NHS Business Services Authority.</p><p> </p><p>The national ‘Check Before You Tick’ communications campaign is also live, encouraging people to check whether they are entitled to free NHS prescriptions before claiming them.
