star this property answer text <p>As set out in the Williams Rail Review terms of reference announced by the Secretary of State on 11th October, the Review’s remit does not include assessing the specific infrastructure and services that should be provided by the railway. It is therefore not reconsidering public investment decisions made through existing franchise agreements, Control Period 6 commitments, High Speed 2 (HS2) and other major projects.</p><p> </p><p>The Review will consider and make recommendations about which structures and commercial models will best serve the current and future railway, including ensuring the benefits from HS2 and other major rail projects are fully captured.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>When the Government published guidance in March 2018, we made clear that the Rail Network Enhancements Pipeline would be kept under constant review to ensure that decision making about enhancements is agile. Government will take account of affordability and the need to adjust the pipeline to reflect the changing nature of transport, technology and the economy and support the best outcomes for passengers, freight users and the taxpayer. The Government has already committed more than £28m to fully understand the railway opportunities and challenges in the Croydon area, working closely with local partners. We expect to make decisions on the next stage of work in late 2019.</p> more like this
