	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/12/2018 answer text <p>The Government has been very clear that the UK will have an independent trade policy under this agreement, that we will be able to set our own tariffs and negotiate, sign and ratify new free trade agreements after we leave the EU on 29 March.</p><p>The political declaration includes a commitment to an unprecedented free trade deal with the EU which recognises the development of an independent UK trade policy beyond the economic partnership with the EU. We have agreed in principle the terms of the UK’s exit from the EU, as set out in the Withdrawal Agreement. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2018 answer text <p>The Department for International Trade was created in July 2016.</p><p> </p><p>Since the Department was created its Trade Policy Group has grown to around 470 people at the end of October 2018, bringing together trade policy, country specialists and experts on trade policy issues. However, as part of the Department’s FDI Strategy, launched in April this year, DIT works with local partners through the High Potential Opportunities programme to identify emerging clusters, sub-sectors, supply chain gaps or other strategic opportunities that have the greatest potential to deliver economic benefits – across the whole of the UK. This includes local communities and small towns.
