The 2015 Spending Review made available £16 billion for funding for local authorities’ health improvement functions in England over the five year period. The Department commissioned the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to undertake a full evaluation of the strategy’s implementation.</p><p> </p><p>The evaluation is nearing completion. A final draft report will be submitted to the Department shortly and will be sent out for independent peer-review. These conditions contain a clause that require contractors to pay sums to sub-contractors within 30 days of verifying that the invoice is valid and undisputed. The conditions also require sub-contractors to include a clause to the same effect into any contracts it enters into for the purpose of performing the contract.</p><p> </p><p>Regulation 113(6) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/102) (‘The Regulations’) implies a term into the relevant public contracts requiring payment within 30 days, even if the contract itself does not contain express provisions. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/11/2018 answer text <p>In 2017, there was a historic low of working days lost due to musculoskeletal disorders (MSK) related sickness absence. However, MSK disorders remain the second largest reason for working days lost due to sickness absence – second only to minor illnesses (like colds and flu)<sup>1</sup>.</p><p> </p><p>This is why in ‘Improving Lives, the Future of Work, Health and Disability’<sup>2</sup> this Government committed itself to ensuring that individuals suffering from MSK disorders get higher-quality, more joined up support - in the workplace and across the health and welfare systems.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s own strategy, includes research to build our understanding of existing MSK provision and piloting new models of service provision. The intention is to build our understanding of ‘what works’ to improve employment outcomes for individuals with MSK disorders, in order to inform future action.</p><p> </p><p>The Government expects National Health Service leaders, clinicians and experts to develop the long-term plan to ensure that the NHS can cope with the serious demand and cost pressures it faces in the future.
