star this property answer text <p>The Government has continued to press at EU level for the flexibility to apply a zero rate of VAT to women’s sanitary products so that this can be introduced in the UK at the earliest opportunity.</p><p> </p><p>In January 2018, the European Commission brought forward a legislative proposal to enhance Member States’ flexibility to apply reduced and zero rates of VAT. This proposal remains under discussion and, if agreed to by Member States, would give the UK the legal ability to zero rate women’s sanitary products.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Victims Strategy sets out commitments to ensure that victims of crime, including victims of sexual abuse, have access to the support services they need to help them cope with and, as far as possible, recover from the effects of crime.</p><p> </p><p>Sexual assault referral centres (SARCs) are funded by the Department of Health and Social Care and commissioning responsibility is delegated to NHS England. The £8 million spending increase for SARCs set out in the Strategy is additional funding on top of the £31 million existing budget.</p> more like this

The strategy sets out existing commitments to increase funding for victims of approximately £37 million.
