answer text <p>During conversations with potential private sector investment partners and the British Business Bank over the course of 2017 on how best to deliver the Cyber Innovation Fund, the decision was taken to integrate the funding available into the National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF).</p><p> </p><p>The objectives were aligned and this approach will deliver greater economies of scale and return on investment. The original £10m allocated is still available and will be invested in addition to the NSSIF funding. There were no conversations with the Secretary of State for Defence prior to this decision being taken.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In common with other operations, the costs of UK Armed Forces' contributions to UN peacekeeping operations are calculated on a net additional basis; i.e. based on those costs over and above existing funding that the Department would not have incurred but for undertaking the activity. The annual cost of our contribution in Cyprus was £17.8 million per year up to and including financial year 2016-17. The cost of contributions in South Sudan and Somalia in financial year 2016-17 (the first year of activity) was £10.4 million and £5.2 million respectively.</p> more like this
