answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/05/2018 answer text <p><ins class="ministerial">We are developing 15 prestigious technical routes that will set a clear pathway through apprenticeships and new flagship T level programmes to skilled employment for young people.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">High quality apprenticeships offer an excellent means of progression for many young people leaving education, giving them the skills valued by employers.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">T levels are classroom based, level 3 study programmes and will provide a distinctive and rigorous technical alternative to A levels. A substantial, high-quality industry placement will be an essential part of each T level giving students the chance to put into practice the technical skills they have learned in the classroom.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Training and qualifications within the technical education routes are being designed and developed by employers - so that students can be confident they are getting the skills that employers need.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The reformed technical routes will ensure we unlock all the talents of young people across the country, no matter where they come from, and support them into strong, rewarding jobs and careers.</ins></p><p> </p><p><del class="ministerial">We are developing 15 prestigious technical routes to set a clear pathway through apprenticeships and new flagship T levels to skilled employment for young people.</del></p><p><br /><del class="ministerial">We are working with employers to design the content for T levels, which will provide in future a distinctive and rigorous technical alternative to A levels.</del></p><p><br /><del class="ministerial">But apprenticeships must be of high quality. I am pleased that the move from the old frameworks to the new standards has seen the proportion of these apprenticeships in the number of all starts grow from 3% to 36% since last year.</del></p><p><br /><del class="ministerial">Traineeships for those most distant from the labour market are yielding good results. With two thirds progessing to positive destinations and reporting high levels of satifaction (82%). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/05/2018 answer text <p>Ministers, the Department and third parties regularly promote the advantages of pension saving in the media for all workers.</p><p> </p><p>All employers have a duty to assess their staff to see if they have eligible workers, tell them about automatic enrolment and complete a declaration of compliance to be submitted to the Pensions Regulator. Even if an employer has workers who are not eligible to be automatically enrolled, they are still required to write to those staff about their right to join a workplace pension scheme. Workers earning below the automatic enrolment earnings trigger and aged between 16 and 75 years will normally still be entitled to a contribution from their employer if they earn more than £6,032 per year (for 2018/19).</p><p> </p><p>Automatic enrolment has been a great success story with over 9.6 million workers enrolled into pensions saving and more than 1.2million employers having met their duties.</p><p>The Government’s December 2017 review of automatic enrolment set out our ambition to build on that success, with a comprehensive and balanced package of proposals to further strengthen pension saving. The proposals, which are aimed at continuing to build a stronger, more inclusive savings culture for future generations, include lowering the minimum age entry point for automatic enrolment from 22 to age 18 and removing the lower earnings limit so that contributions are calculated from the first pound of earnings. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/05/2018 answer text <p>The careers strategy makes clear that personal guidance from a qualified practitioner is important to help individuals make informed choices about their education, training and careers.</p><p>Secondary schools and colleges are responsible for making sure their students receive independent careers guidance with a qualified careers adviser whenever significant study or career choices are being made. We recognise the value of personal guidance and expect all schools to work towards meeting the eight Gatsby Career Benchmarks by the end of 2020. The benchmark on personal guidance advises that all young people should have a careers interview by the age of 16, and the opportunity for one further such interview by age 18.</p><p>To target support for those who need it most, the government has announced £2.5 million of funding for new innovative, cost effective models, for delivering personal careers guidance in schools and colleges. However, an application submitted earlier may result in a shortfall in the applicant’s qualifying period when they later apply for settlement.</p><p>The immigration rules allow us to add no more than 28 days to the standard grant of leave to remain to account for the days lost upon submission. Applicants are advised when applying not to make any non-urgent international travel arrangements until their passports or travel documents are returned to them, followed by their Biometric Residence Permit if their application is successful.</p><p>Applicants can request the urgent withdrawal of their application for international travel. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/05/2018 answer text <p>Information on the number of people with refugee status who were awarded a university place or enrolled at UK universities is not held by the department.</p><p> </p><p>Student support is available to those recognised as refugees (and their spouses, civil partners and children named on the initial application for asylum), provided they have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands since being recognised by the government as a refugee and are ordinarily resident in England on the first day of the first academic year of the course. They are exempt from the three year residence requirement.</p><p> </p><p>Asylum seekers who are recognised as refugees after the start of their course may qualify for the following support for the remainder of their studies:</p><ul><li>living cost support in any subsequent years of the course (and in the quarters following the award in the year of the award); and</li><li>fee loans in any subsequent years of the course (and in the year of the award if the award is made within three months of the first day of the academic year of the course).</li></ul><p> </p><p>Management information provided by the Student Loans Company showing the number of English domiciled applicants with refugee status who were awarded a student loan up to the academic year 2016 to 2017 can be found in the table below.
