The purpose of the Digital Charter is to make the internet work for everyone. It is a rolling programme of work to agree norms and rules for the online world and put them into practice. As part of the Charter we are looking at the legal liability that online platforms have for the content shared on their sites. The creative industries sector deal will also help the whole of the creative industries protect and enforce their copyright including through an expansion of voluntary work with industry along the lines of the IPO’s groundbreaking search roundtable process.
