The government’s proposed call for evidence will explore whether changes to the tax system or charges could help reduce single-use plastic waste. This will look at all single-use plastics, not just plastic straws. The call for evidence will be launched next month. The government will outline how it plans to proceed once we have analysed the responses to this call for evidence.
