The Care Act 2014 introduced national eligibility criteria for access to adult social care that local authorities are required to meet.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The Government takes seriously the report of the Parliamentary and Health Services Ombudsman (PHSO) ‘Ignoring the alarms: how NHS eating disorder services are failing patients’.</p><p> </p><p>Following on from the publication of the report the Department will work with partner organisations and arm’s length bodies, including NHS England, and NHS Improvement to consider how the recommendations can be taken into account as part of the planned improvements to mental health and eating disorder services.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is considering the recommendations within the PHSO’s report and will be responding fully in due course to both the PHSO and the family of the patient concerned. The response will outline a proposed set of actions around reviewing provision of adult eating disorder services and the question of parity of adult services with children and young people services. Their formal response to the recommendations of the report will include our plans to review existing levels of geographical variation and the scope to address as part of future improvements to adult eating disorder services.</p>

star this property answer text <p>A small Proof of Concept was undertaken with DISC Holdings (formerly Govcoin) which included a budgeting app that could be used on a mobile phone. There are no plans to roll out any such pilot at scale. If claimants chose to use an account with a mobile app, as long as it has a standard account number and sort code, then they may do so. It is not within the DWP’s remit to promote one company’s product over another.</p><p> </p><p>DWP has liaised with University College London regarding technological developments in this area. No formal projects were initiated as a result of this.</p><p> </p><p>The Department continues to work with industry to understand how emerging technologies can be used to support claimants.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>My predecessor, Marcus Jones MP, held discussions with officials in his own department (Communities and Local Government) and with officials at the Department for Work and Pensions. He also held meetings with providers of refuge accommodation.</p><p>Under the short-term supported accommodation model, an individual’s entitlement to Housing Benefit remains unchanged, rather we are removing their liability to pay rent at a vulnerable point in their lives.</p><p>We are undertaking a review of how domestic abuse services, are provided across England. The review will cover funding for refuges, including critical care and support costs, and will be completed by summer 2018.</p><p>I look forward to continuing this engagement and to working with the sector.</p> more like this
