We will ensure that decisions on the long-term system are based on evidence.</p><p><br>On 27 July, the Government commissioned the independent Migration Advisory Committee to gather evidence on patterns of EU migration and the role of migration in the wider economy. The MAC will advise on the economic and social impacts of the UK’s exit from the EU and also on how the UK’s immigration system should be aligned with a modern industrial strategy. It will report in September 2018 and its findings will help shape the government’s decisions on the future immigration system.</p><p><br>The Government also regularly engages with sectoral bodies to ensure our immigration routes work effectively to enable businesses to access the talent they need. Statistics on the number of cases dealt with by the FMU are published annually, including a breakdown by region and age, and are available online at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/forced-marriage#statistics-on-forced-marriage-collected-by-fmu%20" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/guidance/forced-marriage#statistics-on-forced-marriage-collected-by-fmu </a>.</p><p>Statistics are available for the region of the West Midlands. The FMU must safeguard those it supports. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/12/2017 answer text <p>The Home Office Statistical Bulletin publishes data about convictions quarterly but does not distinguish those which relate to Syria and Iraq and Daesh. British Citizens who are investigated and charged with offences relating to the conflict in Syria and Iraq will be prosecuted in accordance with the <a href="http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/docs/code_2013_accessible_english.pdf" target="_blank">Code for Crown Prosecutors</a>.</p><p>Although official figures do not show how many were Syria or Iraq or Daesh related, of the 97 persons charged with a terrorism-related offence in the year ending September 2017, 30 had been prosecuted (as at the time of data provision to the Home Office, 06 November 2017), 30 of which were found guilty.
