More than 40,000 foreign national offenders have been removed from the UK since 2010, and last year a record number of over 6,300 were removed. The package includes measures that we believe will help people who are experiencing problems with rights of way that cross their property. We have already undertaken to review these measures two years after implementation to evaluate how well they are working.</p><p> </p><p>Good progress has been made on drafting the various required statutory instruments and guidance, working with the Stakeholder Working Group who developed the recommendations for reform. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2017 answer text <p>We recognise the essential role local authorities play in the safeguarding of all children in their care, regardless of their backgrounds or experiences. It is absolutely right that local authorities continue to make decisions about the placement and welfare of children they have responsibility for, which includes assessing risks such as trafficking, and considering the need to refer them to the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).</p><p>The recently announced package of reforms to the NRM includes a number of measures that will improve the process for both adults and children. A single expert unit will be created in the Home Office to handle all cases referred from front line staff and to make decisions about whether somebody is a victim of modern slavery. Member to the answer I gave him on 21 November 2017 to Question 113158.</p><p>Geo-engineering is the deliberate large-scale intervention in the Earth’s natural systems to counteract climate change. A wide range of different geo-engineering techniques has been proposed, in two broad categories: those to remove greenhouse gases directly from the atmosphere and those to reflect some of the Sun’s energy that reaches Earth back into space.</p><p>Some forms of geo-engineering are already regulated. For instance, in England, large-scale afforestation is covered by Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations. Oceans are protected from ocean fertilisation activities and, potentially, other forms of marine geo-engineering by the Protocol to the London Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter.</p><p>Under the Convention on Biological Diversity the 196 Parties, including the UK, have agreed to take a precautionary approach on geo-engineering activities that may affect biodiversity until there is an adequate scientific basis to justify such activities, with the exception of small-scale, controlled scientific research studies.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Devizes answering member printed Claire Perry question first answered 05/12/2017 16:17:47 answering member 3974 label Biography information for Claire Perry

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2017 answer text <p>BEIS has offered funding to help all 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in England develop energy strategies. A first phase of funding was offered to thirteen LEPs in March 2017, and funding was offered to the remaining 25 LEPs in September 2017.</p><p>BEIS is enabling local areas to develop energy strategies, linked with the forthcoming Local Industrial Strategies, to reflect the needs, opportunities and barriers within the local area. Some LEP areas have chosen to work together on a joint strategy. Strategies are expected to consider the full range of energy opportunities and challenges in the local area, including the potential for renewable heat and power generation, demand side management and transport infrastructure.</p><p>No energy strategies have been completed yet. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2017 answer text <p>As outlined in the Clean Growth Strategy, the costs of low carbon technologies have fallen significantly since 2010 through a series of innovations and growth in deployment, with solar photovoltaics (PV) modules now almost 80 per cent cheaper than they were, meaning we are now beginning to see solar deploying in the UK without government support.</p><p>Solar PV projects continue to benefit from support provided under various government schemes in the UK.
