answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/12/2017 answer text <p>Well-organised peri-operative care pathways improve patient outcomes and increase the efficiency of NHS services. All trusts that provide surgical care automatically provide a peri-operative care pathway.</p><p> </p><p>The Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Royal College of Surgeons have supported the introduction of Enhanced Recovery to improve peri-operative care and this is being actively promoted through RightCare guidance to commissioners and through the Getting It Right First Time Programme for hospitals. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2017 answer text <p>On 31 July Health Education England (HEE) published the National Health Service workforce plan for England; setting out concrete steps for delivering 21,000 new posts (professional and allied) across the mental health system, with the expectation that 19,000 of these places would be filled by staff employed directly by the NHS. The plan focuses on both new staff and on improved retention of existing staff, as well as new roles and new models of mental health care. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/11/2017 answer text <p>Health Education England (HEE) is responsible for the planning and funding of post-registration medical education. HEE works directly with a number of partners, including National Health Service trusts, to assess demand and supply for clinical staff, and commissions programmes of education accordingly. The training curricula for postgraduate trainee doctors is set by the relevant medical Royal College, and continuing professional and personal development for registered professionals employed in the NHS is a matter for employers and those individuals.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has put in place a revised accountability and governance model for implementing the Autism Strategy in line with the Autism Act (2009). It has established a Workforce Development Task and Finish Group as part of this work, co-chaired by Health Education England and Skills for Care, which may consider the provision of training in autism diagnosis for clinicians in the NHS.
