	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/11/2017 answer text <p>Following Royal Assent of the Housing and Planning Act 2016, a Working Group of relevant experts, including the Local Government Association, was established to provide recommendations to Ministers on what, if any, legislative requirements for electrical safety in the private rented sector should be introduced. The Working Group met four times, in August, October, November and December 2016. The working group has now concluded and Ministers are considering its report and recommendations.</p><p>A recent consultation by the Health and Safety Executive on The Gas Safety (Installations and Use) Regulations 1998 involved an assessment of the adequacy of landlords’ gas safety checks. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/11/2017 answer text <p>In 2010 the Department funded the Local Government Association to develop guidance on fire safety in purpose built blocks flats, which includes specific advice on ensuring the safety of disabled people and means of escape in the event of a fire. This was published in 2011 and is available at: <a href="https://www.local.gov.uk/fire-safety-purpose-built-flats" target="_blank">https://www.local.gov.uk/fire-safety-purpose-built-flats</a>.</p><p>Approved Document B (Fire Safety) provides guidance on securing reasonable standards of health and safety of persons in and about buildings. This is intended to include all people including people with disabilities. However, as set out paragraph 0.19 this also recognises that the needs of some disabled people will need to be considered on a case-by-case basis.</p><p>The Government is committed to helping older and disabled people to live independently and safely at home. The Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) is a means-tested grant which can contribute towards meeting the cost of adapting an older or disabled person’s property, including to improve access (for example, through widening doorframes). Since 2012-13 the Government has invested over £1.6 billion into the DFG, providing around 250,000 adaptations. Such discussions will occur throughout the year and will take place as required dependent, to an extent, upon if and how we propose to change, develop or improve our employment policies or employee engagement strategy. The significant majority of such meetings are informal in nature and we do not routinely maintain a record of the number or content of these discussions. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/10/2017 answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Defence Policy Statement for Health, Safety and Environmental Protection requires that all organisations across Defence comply with the relevant statutory requirements that includes the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO).</p><p>The assessment of compliance with the FSO is the responsibility of the Director General Defence Safety Authority (DG DSA) who operates under a Charter from the Secretary of State for Defence. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/10/2017 answer text <p>Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, a responsible person (usually the employer or building owner) must carry out regularly a fire risk assessment and ensure effective fire safety arrangements are in place, and maintained, to protect all those using the premises.</p><p>Local fire and rescue authorities are the enforcing authorities in the majority of premises which the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies. Under the National Framework for Fire and Rescue in England, each authority must determine its own risk-based inspection programme and have in place a management strategy for enforcing its provisions.</p><p>It is for competent fire safety officers in each authority to consider, on the basis of their audit and/or inspection findings, whether the general fire precautions in place in any particular premises are sufficient to comply with the requirements of the Order.
