	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2017 answer text <p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has taken a number of steps to improve its prosecution of all strands of hate crime. Specifically they have delivered mandatory face to face disability hate crime training for all prosecutors to deal more effectively with disability hate crime cases.</p><p>As a result, the CPS is prosecuting, and convicting, more defendants of disability hate crime than ever before. In 2015-16, the CPS completed 941 disability hate crime prosecutions, an increase of 275 on the previous year.</p><p>The proportion of successfully completed prosecutions with an announced and recorded sentence uplift increased to 11.9% from 5.4% the previous year.</p><p>The CPS will shortly be publishing a public policy statement on disability hate crime and a Support Guide for victims and witnesses with disabilities.</p> answering member constituency South Swindon answering member printed Robert Buckland question first answered 11/07/2017 11:09:58 answering member 4106 label Biography information for Sir Robert Buckland

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2017 answer text <p>Voting in more than one location at a General Election or at other national polls such as a referendum is a crime which carries an unlimited financial penalty.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We take this matter very seriously. I have raised this issue as a priority with the Electoral Commission and look forward to their report on the 2017 General Election.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>It is possible to determine whether an individual has voted twice at a General Election by checking the marked register of those who have voted. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2017 answer text <p>The best sources of data available to identify the number of people participating in sporting activities in a) North Swindon constituency and b) England in each of the last five years is Sport England’s Active People Survey and its Active Lives Survey, both of which are accessible via Sport England’s website.</p><p> </p><p>The Active People Survey collected data on participation rates across England from October 2005 to September 2016. The Active Lives Survey replaced the Active People Survey – using a different methodology to measure participation, but still focusing on England only - and was first published in January 2017. The attached table provided a detailed breakdown.</p><p> </p><p>Both the Active People Survey and Active Lives Survey collect and provide data on people aged 16+. Data on the number below the age of 16 has not been collected to date, though Sport England is currently developing an Active Lives Children Survey, which will include data for children aged 5-15. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/07/2017 answer text <p>The Government continues to use a wide variety of mechanisms to promote the merits of apprenticeships.</p><p> </p><p>We use the internet, social media, advertising campaigns, as well as direct communications and face to face dialogue with employers and individuals to champion the benefits of apprenticeships.</p><p> </p><p>Our Get In Go Far campaign was launched to inspire more young people to take on an apprenticeship, and more employers to offer them. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/07/2017 answer text <p>The Government believes in the value of teaching young people the basic knowledge they need to carry out first aid and emergency response procedures.</p><p> </p><p>Schools are free to teach first aid, and many schools already choose to teach lifesaving as part of personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE), building on the relevant statutory content in the National Curriculum, such as the science programmes of study at Key Stages 3 and 4.</p><p> </p><p>Schools are free to draw on materials from expert organisations. For example, the non-statutory programme of study produced by the PSHE Association, encourages schools to teach young people how to recognise and follow health and safety procedures, ways of reducing risk and minimising harm in risky situations, and how to use emergency and basic first aid.</p><p> </p><p>The Children and Social Work Act provides powers for the Secretary of State to make PSHE, or elements therein, mandatory in all schools, subject to careful consideration.</p><p> </p><p>We will set out shortly more details about the engagement process and the work to consider age appropriate subject content. This will result in draft regulations and guidance on which we will consult. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/07/2017 answer text <p>Supporting people experiencing mental health issues to develop their confidence and skills is a priority for this government, and further education providers have an important role to play. We invest in this via the disadvantage element of the participation funding for 16-19 year olds, and through the Adult Education Budget for students aged 19 and over. This sits alongside an additional £1.4bn we are investing in children and young people’s mental health through the NHS.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Education (DfE) is also running the Community Learning Mental Health programme, comprising 57 pilot projects around the country. This supports students with mild to moderate mental health difficulties access learning. Findings from this will be available early 2018, which will inform future work. Additionally, the DfE is currently working alongside the Department of Health to develop a children and young people’s mental health green paper, which will be published by the end of the year. Currently 70% of train fleets operating passenger services meet modern accessibility standards, up from just 39% as at January 2011, with the remaining vehicles due to be either upgraded or replaced by 1 January 2020. We are continuing to improve station access through the Access for All programme and other major projects such as Thameslink or Crossrail. Tax summaries show individuals how their income tax and National Insurance contributions have been calculated for all their employments and other forms of taxable income, and how this contributes to public expenditure.</p><p> </p><p>Individuals can compare one year’s tax summary with another to see how changes to income tax, such as increases to the personal allowance, affect their tax bill.
