answer text <p>At the Budget on 8 March the Chancellor announced a new relief scheme for pubs with a rateable value below £100,000. Under the scheme, eligible pubs will receive a £1000 discount on rate bills. answer text <p>Rateable values are set independently of ministers by the Valuation Office Agency. The Government has put in place a £3.6 billion package of transitional relief to support those businesses facing an increase. Additionally, my Department has been working closely with the Treasury to determine how best to provide further support to those businesses with the steepest increases.</p><p>A package of support was subsequently announced at the Budget on 8 March. It includes £110 million to support rate-payers losing small business rates relief and rural rate relief as a result of the 2017 revaluation, as well as a £300 million discretionary relief fund for local authorities to help individual businesses that are having the greatest difficulties paying increased rates bills.</p> more like this

It is important that all involved in sport play their part in educating participants about the dangers of doping, both in terms of the damage it does to sport's integrity but also the health risks to individuals as well. There is still more that sports governing bodies can do on this front, working alongside UK Anti-Doping, to help promote clean and fair sport at all levels.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Government is committed to encouraging more people to engage in sport and physical activity, regardless of their background or level of ability.</p><p> </p><p>Government's Sporting Future strategy published in December 2015 set out that, in future, public investment in sport and physical activity will be based on the contribution that organisations can make to five broad outcomes: Physical Wellbeing; Mental Wellbeing; Individual Development; Social and Community Development; and Economic Development.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2010 Sport England has invested over £4.7 million of National Lottery money in projects and facilities to get more people mountain biking. Sport England will continue to work with British Cycling to ensure that more people from all backgrounds are encouraged to take up Mountain Biking and to enjoy the benefits it brings.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Government is committed to supporting everyone to get active and participation in swimming has an important role to play.</p><p>Sport England has invested more than £40,000 of National Lottery funding in a Kirklees swimming programme and since 2010 has invested £1.5 million of Lottery funding in swimming in West Yorkshire.</p><p>Since 2010, Sport England has invested £35,407,363 of National Lottery money has been invested in a range of swimming projects across Greater London, including £34,442,800 in swimming in Newham and the London Aquatics Centre.</p><p>Sport England is also in discussion with the Amateur Swimming Association regarding the investment it will be making in swimming for the 2017-21 period.</p><p>Sporting Future set out the Government's commitment to ensuring that no child left school unable to swim and commissioned the Amateur Swimming Association's Swim Group to undertake a review. The Group is finalising its report and will be sharing its findings with government shortly.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
