answer text <p>Approximately 850 UK linked individuals of national security concern have travelled to engage with the Syrian conflict. We estimate that just under half have returned and approximately 15% are now dead. This number includes all those of national security concern, not just those affiliated with Daesh.</p><p>We estimate that many foreign terrorist fighters from across Europe will choose to remain in the conflict zones, a significant proportion of which are likely to be killed in combat or join other extremist groups in the region. However some may attempt to return to their country of origin.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The average waiting times for immigration and asylum appeals in 2015/16 was 34 weeks.</p><p>As at 30 September 2016 there were 57,290 registered appeals awaiting hearing. This figure is based on internal management information which is not subject to the same rigorous verification processes as published data.</p><p>We do everything we can to avoid unnecessary delay in the Immigration &amp; Asylum Tribunal and we have provided an additional 4,950 tribunal sitting days for this financial year to ensure current caseloads continue to decrease. We are keeping performance under close review.</p> more like this
