unstar this property answer text <p>The Wales Office is a very small Government Department of around forty five members of staff but it has nevertheless managed to create thirteen apprenticeships since 2011. unstar this property answer text <p>In light of the Government’s manifesto commitment to achieve three million new apprenticeship starts in England by the end of the Parliament, the Cabinet Office will be centrally collecting data on apprenticeships to allow the Civil Service to report on its contribution towards the national target.</p><p> </p><p>One apprenticeship has been created in my Department to date. This is based in London and commenced in February 2016. I am therefore unable to comment on whether the apprentice will later secure a job in the Civil Service.</p><p> </p><p>As my department has 42 staff based in England this meets the apprenticeship target set by the Civil Service.</p><p> </p> more like this

We are unable to provide more details or we risk identifying the individuals concerned.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is committed to delivering the Civil Service target that a minimum of 2.3% of the workforce in England will be new apprenticeships each year. unstar this property answer text <p>In the UK, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) operates only in London and the South East. The FCO offered apprenticeships for the first time in 2015. Given the sensitivity of FCO work, we are only able to offer a limited number of apprenticeships. We offered fewer than ten apprenticeships in this first year, and are therefore unable to confirm the precise numbers or locations since this might enable individual identities to be revealed. Due to the small numbers, we are also unable to confirm the number remaining in a job in the Civil Service. We are currently in the process of recruiting twenty three apprentices, the majority of whom will be offered a position in Milton Keynes (South East) and the rest in London.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Departmental apprenticeships within Defra have recently been introduced as a response to the Civil Service annual apprenticeship targets.</p><p> </p><p>Apprenticeship data was not collected in Defra prior to January 2016. Data on apprenticeships is now collected and reported to Cabinet Office quarterly. In the most recent return to Cabinet Office, as of the end of the first quarter of 2016/17, it was reported that two apprenticeships had commenced within the Department, one within London and one within the West Midlands. Both participants are still undertaking their apprenticeship. The data collection exercise for those apprenticeships starting in Quarter 2 is currently underway.</p><p> </p><p>Defra plan to considerably expand their apprenticeship programme in light of the Government’s manifesto commitment to achieve three million new apprenticeship starts in England by the end of the Parliament. We are currently in the process of onboarding new apprentices from a recent recruitment campaign as well as looking at further opportunities to develop our existing employees through apprenticeship schemes.</p><p> </p><p>The Cabinet Office will be centrally collecting data on all future apprenticeships to allow the Civil Service to report on its contribution towards the national target and enable tracking of initial outcomes of apprenticeships (e.g. successful completion and continued employment in the Civil Service).</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>In light of the Government’s manifesto commitment to achieve three million new appren-ticeship starts in England by the end of the Parliament, the Cabinet Office will be centrally collecting data on apprenticeships to allow the Civil Service to report on its contribution towards the national target.</p><p>Prior to 1st April 2015 the Home Department did not centrally record apprenticeships.</p><p>From 1st April 2015 to 31st March 2016 there were 30 apprentices who started in the Home Department. From 1st April 2016 to date (as of 28/10/16) 45 apprentices started in the Home Department.</p><p>All of apprentices that started post 1st April 2015 are only part way through their assignments and therefore have not secured permanent positions within the civil service.</p> more like this
