unstar this property answer text <p>NHS England has published a service specification for adult skin cancer services that sets out what the National Health Service must have in place to offer high quality skin cancer treatment, care and support. Embedded in this is the current best practice guidance on skin cancer published by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>NICE is developing a guideline on the assessment and management of melanoma. NICE currently expects to publish its final guidance in July 2015. Advances in medical science mean that new and exciting cancer medicines are emerging all the time and we want people to have access to these too.</p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>The Government established the Cancer Drugs Fund to ensure that cancer patients in England have better access to life-extending and improving drugs not routinely funded by the National Health Service.</p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>Between October 2010 and March 2015, the Fund has helped over 72,000 cancer patients.</p><p> </p> more like this
