star this property answer text <p>Last year, I commissioned Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary to carry out a review of vulnerable people in custody. Last week’s report was concerning, particularly regarding the use of Taser and restraint.</p><p> </p><p>I have therefore asked HMIC to specifically inspect the use of Taser and restraint. I am also suspending the publication of Taser data after work to review it revealed serious concerns about its accuracy. We need much greater transparency of age, ethnicity and outcome data of Taser incidents</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The reduction in the number of test centres offering English language tests for immigration purposes was necessary to ensure control and audit ability following significant abuse identified in early 2014. star this property answer text <p>The Secure English Language Test centre network has been planned to meet anticipated demand. Overseas, the test centres have been mapped to the Visa Application Centre locations to limit the impact on travel and within the UK, there will be an adequate spread of test centres across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. star this property answer text <p>There is no limit on the number of genuine international students who can come to study here, and the reforms we have made to tackle abuse have not deterred <br>the brightest and the best from coming to study at our world-class universities. <br><br>Figures show that there has been an increase of 18% in visa applications from university students compared to 2010 and increase of 30% for those wishing to attend a Russell Group university compared to 2010. <br><br>Higher education statistics for the academic year 2013-14 show that there has been strong growth in countries such as Malaysia (+13%) and Hong Kong (+7%).
