However the immediate priority is to ensure the smooth running of the 2012 child maintenance scheme so that children benefit from regular ongoing maintenance payments and we will continue to do all we can to collect historic Child Support Agency arrears.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Under current plans for ending liability in 1993 and 2003 scheme cases, the Department will validate all CSA arrears, including arrears accrued from Interim Maintenance Assessments and those which have been suspended. The approach was set out in both “Preparing for the future, tackling the past: Child Maintenance – Arrears and Compliance Strategy 2012-2017 and Command Paper Cm8399 “Supporting separated families; securing children’s futures”. The validation process will include caseworkers resolving discrepancies on cases and completing outstanding tasks.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p /> <p>At 31 January 2015 743,100 live Child Support Agency cases remained eligible for case closure. The Child Support Agency started to end child maintenance arrangements on its 1993 and 2003 schemes in 2014 and all cases are due to have their arrangements ended by the end of 2017.</p><p> </p><p>Parents are being encouraged to think about making their own family-based arrangement and those who are not able to come to such an agreement are able to apply to the Child Maintenance Service.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Note:</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>1.
