These prices are provided to us on a commercial basis by Marex Spectron and ICIS Heren for electricity and gas respectively.</p><p>We have calculated yearly averages of the day-ahead wholesale electricity and gas prices (respectively) provided to DECC by Marex Spectron and ICIS Heren respectively on license. These are shown in the table below. Friend the Member for Hastings and Rye.</p><p>In May 2010 there were 7 independent companies supplying gas and/or electricity to households in Great Britain.
