answer text <p>No financial estimate of savings has been made since the introduction of the Q&amp;A system. However, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has seen a reduction in paper usage and BIS staff no longer have to physically deliver PQ answers to hon. Members and the House authorities. These obvious savings will continue.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>BIS changed its IT platform for managing PQs to eCase last summer. This would have happened regardless of the introduction of the Q&amp;A system.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The first tranche of the Integrated Digital Care Technology Fund was called the Safer Hospitals, Safer Wards Technology Fund and £49 million was issued in 2013-14. A further £150 million has been allocated in 2014-15, of which £69 million has been issued to date.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Decisions about the next phase of the roll-out are under consideration and will be made once lessons have been learnt from the initial investment.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>I have made no estimate of the savings specific to my Office following the introduction of the electronic Q&amp;A system, but like other Whitehall Departments, I expect to see savings delivered through the more efficient use of staff time, including through the removal of the need to deliver paper copies of answers, as well as in the reduction of the overall use of paper and other resources.<br><br>My Office has introduced no additional ICT systems or improvements due to the implementation of electronic Q&amp;A.<br><br>One of the benefits of the new system is the possibility for the reporting of the timeliness of answers to Parliamentary Questions to be delivered with greater consistency and accuracy across all answering bodies.<br><br>It will be for the Procedure Committee to evaluate the effectiveness of the new system in improving performance when it assesses the evidence following the end of the Session.</p> more like this
