The Panel meets twice a year and provides advice to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. Driving with diabetes treated with sulphonylureas and glinides was last discussed at the meeting held in October 2014. The longer runway, which began operations on 22 July 2014, will allow direct long-haul flights to emerging economies, such as Brazil and China. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2014 answer text <p>The Department for Transport has not performed its own assessment of the effects of changes in the level of competition between airports on the UK aviation sector.</p><p> </p><p>Under the Civil Aviation Act 2012 the independent Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has a duty to act in passengers’ interests and promote competition where appropriate. To this end the CAA will economically regulate UK airports with significant market power, where the benefits of regulation outweigh the costs. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/12/2014 answer text <p>Whist I do understand the inconvenience the works at London Bridge will cause to all passengers on a number of routes I will not be requiring train companies operating services from Reigate to Redhill stations, or from any other stations, to compensate passengers outside the normal Passenger Charter compensation arrangements.</p><p> </p><p>To require operators to provide further compensation would not only set a precedent for every future timetable change that reduced a service to/from a station throughout the duration of essential infrastructure upgrades required to improve our national rail network. It would also put additional strain on the public purse as requiring operators to provide such non contracted compensation would lead to operators seeking additional funds from Government and increasing the cost of all future improvement schemes on our network.</p><p> </p><p>I fully recognise that planned changes to train services as a result of engineering works can be inconvenient, but it is often impossible to rebuild and improve our Victorian infrastructure without some impact on services – sometimes for an extended period. The primary focus of the partnerships is on business, particularly local business, rather than national organisations. In addition, each partnership is focusing on the sectors best suited to the local area.</p><p> </p><p>Four out of the five partnerships have incorporated some element of STEM activity in their programme. For example, two have partnered with STEM Ambassadors to deliver activities in schools and one partnership is hosting an event with The Royal Academy of Engineering next year. Copies have been placed in the House Libraries.</p><p>A majority of respondents who expressed a view on them were opposed to each of the three main changes to civil partnership. There was therefore no united call for change from respondents to the consultation at this stage.</p><p>Of the over 10,000 online survey answers to each of the relevant questions:</p><p>• Less than a third of respondents supported abolition of civil partnership</p><p>• The majority were against closing civil partnership to new couples</p><p>• Over three-quarters were against opening up civil partnership to opposite sex couples.</p><p>Several important organisations thought it was too soon to consider making changes to civil partnership – this should wait until we know the impact of extending marriage to same sex couples.
