unstar this property answer text <p>Supporting businesses and helping them to invest, create jobs and to grow is a key part of the Government’s long term economic plan. Since 2010 we have already cut Corporation Tax (CT) from 28% to 21%, and next year it will fall to 20% - the joint lowest rate in the G20. The Government has also cut the small profits rate to 20%. Overall these CT cuts for large and small firms will be worth £9.5bn a year to business by 2016.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>HM Treasury has not estimated the number of jobs reshored.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We will continue to work to ensure that the tax system in the UK remains competitive and enables us to attract business investment.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>We have worked with Energy UK, Ofgem, suppliers and other key industry partners to develop and implement proposals which will enable domestic customers to switch supplier 17 days, half the time it currently takes. The industry code changes to enable to this will come in to force on 6 November and Energy UK members have all committed to offering it by the end of the year. These code changes will also enable more streamlined switching of non-domestic customers.</p><p>The Department is also working with Ofgem to support their proposals for a longer term move to next day switching. A key element of this is the roll out of smart meters.</p> more like this

The Government respects the right of parents to choose how their children are educated, whether this is at home or in any of the institutions available to them. However, parents who choose to home educate their children must take responsibility for costs. The aim of the Pupil Premium is to help schools close the attainment gap, with funding focused on those children who have been on free school meals at some point in the last six years.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government respects the right of parents to choose how their children are educated, whether this is at home or in any of the institutions available to them. However, parents who choose to home educate their children must take responsibility for the costs.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Local authorities have the power to choose to give assistance to parents who home school. This can include providing support to children with special educational needs, whether or not they have a statement or Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan. The 0-25 SEND Code of Practice makes it clear that local authorities should work with parents and consider whether to provide support in the home to help the parents make suitable provision. Where an authority draws up a statement or EHC plan which ‘names’ home education as the right provision for the child then they must make any additional special educational provision set out by the statement or plan.</p>

One of the risks considered is that of mid air collision with non-cooperating aircraft. This includes in uncontrolled airspace away from airfields, airports and the airways system (Class G airspace). Following this assessment, the Duty Holder is required to put in place appropriate controls and mitigating measures to ensure that any potential risk is both tolerable and as low as reasonably practicable.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The information requested, accompanied by the category definitions, is provided below.</p><p> </p><p>Events are categorised in accordance with Her Majesty's Naval Base Clyde's internal criteria, which record all events, however seemingly minor. This comprehensive, independent recording process allows Clyde to maintain a robust reporting culture, undertake learning from experience and to take early corrective action. This reporting process has been agreed by, and is subject to routine inspections by, the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator.</p><p> </p><p>None of the events in the reports caused any harm to the health of any member of staff on the Naval Base, or to any member of the public, and the severity of the reported events has remained at a very low level. For example, incorrect labelling of an empty pallet and not filling out the correct form before painting inside a submarine are two of the recorded events. unstar this property answer text <p>The Education (Independent School Standards) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 do not require the active promotion of the protected characteristics in the Equality Act.</p><p> </p><p>The Regulations require that schools actively promote principles which encourage respect for other people, paying particular regard to the protected characteristics. This is a crucial distinction. It is right to respect other people, even if one does not agree with them or their way of life. This is a fundamental part of preparation for life in modern Britain.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is absolutely clear that the changes make no difference to the existing legal obligations that schools have under the Equality Act 2010. All schools are already required to abide by the Act and their obligations are not altered by the changes to the standards. The changes do not fetter the views of individual teachers or censor the discussion of relevant matters. A teacher who, for instance, disagrees with same-sex marriage because of their Christian faith will not be prevented from expressing that view by these changes. Since the changes make no difference to schools’ existing legal obligations under the Equality Act there is no question of the ability of schools to teach traditional Christian values being overridden.</p><p> </p>

Trusts are free to choose, but in doing so they have important responsibilities. Paragraph 1.5.11 of the Handbook explains that trusts must exercise their discretion reasonably and in a way that commands broad public support. Paragraph 1.5.21 explains that the accounting officer is personally accountable for regularity, propriety and value for money in the trust’s financial conduct. Section 3.3 sets out that trusts must seek prior approval from the EFA for transactions that are novel or contentious.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>As stated in the answer to the noble Lady’s question at HL Deb, 24 October 2014, c113W, the Government is providing funding of £1.8 million over two years for continuing professional development for primary and secondary teachers to support delivery of the new modern languages curriculum. The training is being funded through nine organisations whose performance will be monitored against the agreements the Department for Education is making with them.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, the National College for Teaching and Leadership is funding a number of teaching school alliances to develop and deliver a range of post-initial teacher training subject knowledge enhancement courses in shortage subjects. Five of these alliances have included modern languages as a subject focus for their provision, and one of these is primary phase.</p><p> </p> more like this
