Since the financial crisis the Government has, domestically and with EU and international partners, implemented an unprecedented range of regulatory reforms to improve the safety and resilience of the financial sector. The Government will continue to promote long-term and sustainable growth domestically and with EU and international partners, including in the finance sector. In addition, the Government will continue efforts through the Financial Services Trade and Investment Board, a strategic body chaired by HM Treasury, to attract inward investment, promote external trade and encourage the growth of the UK’s financial services sector.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has taken significant action to increase bank lending to smaller businesses, such as through the Funding for Lending Scheme, and through supporting non-bank lending channels via the British Business Bank.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In Autumn 2013 a joint United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Ministerial Task Force was set up to look at ways to promote lending and increase support for businesses in Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government is also implementing further major reforms to boost competition in the provision of smaller business finance through the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill; these measures intend to improve access to SME Credit Information and to match SMEs rejected for SME finance with challenger banks and alternative finance providers that are looking to offer finance.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to increasing the opportunities for full-time employment across the UK. That is why we introduced the Employment Allowance in April 2014 which entitles businesses and charities to a £2,000 allowance on their annual National Insurance contributions bill. The allowance is reducing the cost of employment, supporting small businesses aspiring to grow by hiring their first employee or expanding their workforce.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We are also abolishing Employer National Insurance contributions for under 21s on earnings up to £813 a week from April 2015 helping to support full-time employment for young people. The Government will of course continue to look at further ways to support full-time employment across the UK.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>There are two terrorism-related financial sanctions regimes in operation in the UK. These are the Terrorist Asset Freezing etc. Act (2010) (“TAFA”) regime which implements the terrorist asset freezing requirements of UN Security Council Resolution 1373, and EU Common Position 931; and the EU Al Qaida Sanctions Regime, given effect by Council Regulation 881/2002, which in turn implements the UN Security Council Resolution covering Al-Qaida-related terrorism, UNSRC 1267<strong>. </strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>On the consolidated list there are 248 individuals and 71 entities under the Al Qaida regime which include ISIL-related listings. The narrative summaries of the reasons for listing for the ISIL-related individuals on the Al Qaida list are publically available from the UN website.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Terrorism and Terrorist Financing section of the Treasury’s Consolidated List lists individuals and entities designated under TAFA. It does not include the reasons that persons have been designated.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>There have recently been two UN Security Council Resolutions promulgated which both focus specifically on ISIL, Al-Nusra Front and similar groups active in Syria and Iraq. These were Resolutions 2170 and 2178.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p /> <p>We have no current plans to develop a specific intervention aimed at this offending group.</p><p>NOMS commissioning strategy focuses investment on higher risk/harm groups of offenders with whom interventions have a proven impact. Stalkers are a comparatively small group within the offending population with a broad range of offending behaviours which may have different underlying motives or risk factors. The needs of offenders convicted of offences involving stalking behaviour can in some cases be addressed through existing accredited offending behaviour programmes, for example, the Building Better Relationships Programme or a Sex Offender Treatment Programme. Additionally, there may be opportunities to address risk and needs through one-to-one work.</p><p>NOMS Commissioners continually bear in mind the need to examine the needs of particular offender sub groups. If it becomes apparent that there is any discrete and significant subgroup of offenders with specific needs that are not met by existing provision, our commissioning strategy will change.</p>
