This includes extensive archaeological studies and assessments to provide evidence of the benefits that the scheme would deliver for the World Heritage Site.</p><p> </p><p>The scheme proposals are currently being examined by a panel of independent planning inspectors. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/09/2019 answer text <p>The £3.37 million MHCLG Community Fund programme has supported 54 local authorities and community group partnerships to shape and deliver improved services. Six grants are linked to social prescribing, of which three directly target vulnerable children and young people. For example, the ‘Community Connectors’ project in South Norfolk was awarded £70,000 to deliver social prescribing from all GP surgeries across South Norfolk providing a non-medical solution to social, emotional and practical issues that may be causing health problems for people of all ages.</p><p>The Department has also contributed towards the £3.5 million jointly invested by the Government and the Co-op Foundation in projects tackling youth loneliness through the Youth Strand of the Building Connections Fund in 2018-19 and 2019-20.</p><p>My Department will continue to work with other government departments to deliver the commitments in 'A Connected Society: A Strategy for Tackling Loneliness’ and to build the infrastructure for social prescribing.</p> answering member constituency Rossendale and Darwen answering member printed Jake Berry question first answered 04/09/2019 14:31:44 answering member 4060 label Biography information for Sir Jake Berry

Many of these commitments are targeted at tackling loneliness among children and young people.</p><p> </p><p>Examples include: teaching all primary and secondary school children in England about loneliness from September 2020 under the new subjects of Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education and supporting young people to look after local green spaces and wildlife habitats, while building social connections, through the #iwill campaign.</p><p> </p><p>Twenty-two of the 126 organisations funded through the £11.5m Building Connections Fund (delivered in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund and the Co-op Foundation) are working specifically with young people at risk of loneliness. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/09/2019 answer text <p>The government is committed to supporting young carers so that they are properly protected from excessive or inappropriate caring responsibilities and supported to achieve their full potential. Consistent identification remains challenging, with many being ‘hidden’ and therefore unrecognised and/or unsupported.</p><p>Changes through the Children and Families Act 2014 simplified the legislation relating to young adult carers’ assessments, making rights and duties clearer to both young people and practitioners. This included promoting whole family approaches which triggers both children’s or young people's and adults’ support services into action – assessing why a child is caring, what needs to change and what would help the family to prevent children or young people from taking on this responsibility in the first place.</p><p>Most of the government’s work to support carers is led by the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) delivered through the Carers Action Plan. The 'Shaping our Future: Improving Assessment and Support for Young Carers Transition to Adulthood' report was published in June and is available from here:</p><p><a href="https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/sites/default/files/young-carer_transition_report.pdf" target="_blank">https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/sites/default/files/young-carer_transition_report.pdf</a>.</p><p>One of the recommendations states that there is more to learn about young carers’ experiences of loneliness and how it is related to their well-being. There should be a specific focus on young adult carers being better connected in order to tackle the loneliness they experience.
