For example, approximately 38 police forces in England have access to a Street Triage service – where mental health professionals accompany police officers on patrol and all forces have access to mental health partners who provide advice and support them in dealing with the public. We recognised the problem of unnecessary workload when we launched the Workload Challenge in 2014. Our responses to this and the 2016 Teacher Workload Survey set out comprehensive programmes of action to be taken.
