answer text
The Department is tasked with successfully delivering the UK’s exit from the European Union. A key element of this is ensuring preparation for all possible scenarios, including leaving the EU without a deal.

The Department’s costs, along with planned Estimates for future years, can be found in the latest Annual Report and Accounts (link). It is not however possible to accurately attribute the Department’s costs to specific scenario planning, such as “no deal”, as the Department’s work is not compartmentalised in such a manner.

The Department cannot comment on the cost of the work performed by other departments. Such questions would need redirecting to each department.

more like this

answer text
The Government is committed to enhancing the UK's position as world leader in soft power by promoting our strengths and our values globally. The UK excels in the fields of science, research, education and creativity and will continue to invest in strong relationships with our European partners.

As part of the process of leaving the EU we will take informed decisions about how to deliver the policy objectives previously targeted by EU funding. While the FCO is not the lead Department for these programmes, and has made no specific assessment in relation to soft power, the Government is working closely with stakeholders to review all EU funding schemes in the round, and to ensure that any ongoing funding commitments best serve the UK's national interest.

more like this

answer text
The Government will fully involve the devolved administrations, including Scotland, as we prepare for negotiations on the UK’s exit from the EU. We are working towards securing the best possible deal for the whole UK, and to achieve this we will need to work closely with colleagues in the devolved administrations at official and ministerial level. I addressed this subject in greater detail in the debate held on 21 July: https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2016-07-21/debates/16072153000001/EUExitDevolvedGovernments
more like this
