No such estimate has been made. Carer’s Allowance is taken into account in the calculation of Universal Credit in the same way as the benefits it replaced. Universal Credit includes an additional amount for carers at the rate of £162.92 per monthly assessment period. This amount recognises the additional contribution and responsibilities associated with caring.
