<p>The Minister for Women and Equalities has had discussions on ending period poverty
and stigma with a number of Ministerial colleagues including the Parliamentary Under
Secretary of State for Mental Health, Inequalities and Suicide Prevention. A new government-backed
Taskforce on Period Poverty was announced by the Minister for Women and Equalities
on 4<sup>th</sup> March to build on existing initiatives and develop ideas for a comprehensive,
sustainable response in the UK. It will convene the public, private and third sectors,
including representatives from the Department of Health and Social Care and grassroots
organisations.</p>
