In the last 3 months, National Highways (NH) has carried out repairs and addressed defects on the A1(M) southbound approach to junction 7.</p><p> </p><p>National Highways has a comprehensive road inspection and maintenance programme to maintain safe roads and to reduce the potential for potholes and other surface defects.</p><p> </p><p>Further work will be done between 12 and 16 February. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2024 answer text <p>We plan to publish the results of the Driver 2020 project soon; this is an evaluation of interventions to improve the safety of young novice drivers, in partnership with the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL). This project commenced in January 2019 and over 28,000 learner and novice drivers were recruited. This project, the progress of which has been delayed by Covid, includes a telematics trial. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/01/2024 answer text <p>The Department for Transport received requests from industry to remove the regulatory 50 km restriction on regular services for 18 – 20-year old bus and coach drivers and explore whether a person is able to undertake the theory and off-road manoeuvre elements of the Driver Certificate of Professional Competency test prior to being granted a provisional licence. The Department has been considering these requests and we are actively working on next steps.</p><p><br> The Department will continue to work closely with the Department for Work and Pensions and industry to identify job centre customers who would like to become bus and coach drivers and support them to achieve that aim. Part of our work on this has involved setting up a pilot scheme with an operator that is designed to recruit and train job centre customers into coach driving roles. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2024 answer text <p>We are making progress on planning and delivering the schemes within Network North alongside our other rail enhancements priorities, working with Network Rail and other delivery partners to develop and deliver the benefits of this investment</p><p> </p><p>The Northern Powerhouse Rail project between Bradford and Manchester is part of the Government’s Network North proposals, which commit to providing up to £2bn (in 2019 prices) for significant improvements in rail connectivity between Bradford and Manchester (via Huddersfield) and a new station in Bradford.</p><p> </p><p>The £2bn from Network North is in addition to £500m committed in the Integrated Rail Plan to upgrading the line between Leeds and Bradford Interchange with opportunity to reduce journey times to as low as 12 minutes between Leeds and Bradford.</p><p> </p><p>All the projects within Network North will be progressed and developed in line with the principles of Project Acceleration in a Controlled Environment (PACE), which is the new approach used by Network Rail to govern, manage and progress rail enhancements, replacing GRIP.
