answer text <p>We maintain a productive dialogue with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and EU Member States on aviation matters.</p><p>Officials at the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have engaged in discussions with EASA in preparations for the 41st ICAO Assembly.</p><p>The Civil Aviation Authority, as the regulator for aviation safety in the UK, also has regular engagement with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on a range of regulatory matters, including those covered under the UK/EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA).</p><p>UK Ministers and officials at the Department for Transport have been engaging regularly with EU Member States on a range of aviation matters, including cooperation on shared priorities during the 41<sup>st</sup> ICAO Assembly, our response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and on areas covered under the UK/EU TCA.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The CAA have published information about the impact of leaving EASA on training organisations and trainees on their EU Exit Microsite. Trainees undertaking or considering commencing a course of training are recommended to contact their training organisation to understand what approvals the organisation holds and intends to seek. UK Approved Training Organisations may need to decide whether they wish to retain a national approval and also seek an European Aviation Safety Agency approval, in order to allow students to train for an EU licence and obtain an EU licence.</p><p>In terms of reciprocal agreements with the EU, following EU Exit, the UK and EU agreed a high-level Aviation Safety Agreement, with an annex on Airworthiness.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

We are aware that there is interest in further annexes on topics such as licencing recognition between the UK and EU. answer text <p>The UK and EU have both put in place measures to ensure that flights can continue in any EU Exit scenario. In a no deal scenario, the EU’s adopted Regulation on connectivity gives UK airlines the right to fly to and from the EU from the day of exit until a proposed date of October 2020, allowing time to progress longer-term arrangements. The UK has stated we will reciprocate these rights for EU airlines. Both sides are committed to maintaining connectivity.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Flights between the UK and the EU will continue whatever the outcome of EU Exit. In a deal scenario, flights will continue as now during the time-limited Implementation Period. In a no deal scenario, the EU have adopted a regulation which gives UK airlines the right to fly to and from the EU for 12 months, and the UK will reciprocate these rights for EU airlines. This will be the foundation upon which the UK will negotiate a bespoke relationship. We do not want to simply adopt a model already used by other countries, like Switzerland.</p><p> </p><p>The importance of air services to the UK economy is recognised across Government and we continue to work closely with the aviation sector to ensure its ongoing success. Securing liberal market access to EU and global markets is a high priority for the Department for Transport.</p><p> </p><p>My officials are in discussion with third countries regarding post-Brexit air services arrangements. They are on course to reach an understanding with each of those countries well before the UK leaves the EU.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is considering carefully all the potential implications arising from the UK’s exit from the EU, including upon cabotage rights, and plans to negotiate the best possible relationship between the UK and EU in the field of aviation. It will be in the interests of both sides in the negotiation to maintain closely integrated aviation markets.</p>
