answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/02/2019 answer text <p>The UK is a strong supporter of the rules-based multilateral trading system and global trade liberalisation.</p><p> </p><p>The WTO is the bedrock of rules-based free trade. The UK welcomed the commitment made at the G20 Summit last year in December to support the necessary reform of the WTO to improve its functioning. Following the UK’s departure from the EU, the UK will continue to champion discussions on WTO reform, and engage with WTO Members at international fora and in our bilateral engagements, in particular on the importance of updating rules on digital trade and ensuring that the WTO dispute settlement system is not undermined. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/02/2019 answer text <p>As the Prime Minister said in her visit to the region last year, the UK wants to deepen its trading relations with EAC and is increasing its presence in the region.</p><p> </p><p>Our immediate priority is a smooth transition in our trading relations with East Africa as the UK prepares to leave the EU. Membership extension would naturally require Guernsey to be fully compliant with the terms of the UK’s WTO membership. No decisions have yet been taken.</p><p>My Rt Hon.
