answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to leaving the EU on 31<sup>st</sup> October and is seeking a new deal with the EU. At this late stage, we believe that it is still possible for the UK to leave the EU with a deal and will work to make this happen.</p><p> </p><p>We have been making preparations in the event we choose to leave the EU without a deal. To date, the UK has signed or agreed in principle agreements with countries that account for 64% of the UK’s trade with all the countries with which the UK is seeking continuity in the event of a potential No Deal. That has moved from 28% since March. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to encouraging investment in the oil and gas industry across the whole of the UK, building on previous incentives such as tax reduction and funding support.</p><p>It awarded the Oil &amp; Gas Authority a £5 million fund for 2018/19 to survey under-explored areas of the UK Continental Shelf to find potential new deposits. The successful award of licences for the UK’s Frontier 31<sup>st</sup> Offshore Licensing Round announced in June was supported by data from the Government-Funded Seismic Programme.</p><p>The Oil &amp; Gas Technology Centre, backed by both the UK and Scottish governments, today has more than £100 million co-invested with industry to develop and deploy technology, helping anchor the industry’s expert engineering supply chain in the North East. In May, the government backed industry plans for a Global Underwater Engineering Hub in Aberdeen to reinforce the UK’s status as a global leader in the field and build on expertise in subsea robotics, remotely-operated underwater vehicles and maritime support vessels. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/07/2019 answer text <p>UK Export Finance (UKEF)’s mission is to ensure no viable UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance, while operating at no net cost to the taxpayer. UKEF helps UK companies win export contracts by providing attractive financing terms to their buyers, fulfil contracts by supporting working capital loans, and get paid by insuring against buyer default. For this reason, this response has interpreted the request for the proportion of UKEF <em>spend</em> as the proportion of UKEF <em>support</em>, that being the share of total maximum liability UKEF provided for exports relating to renewables in low and middle-income countries in each of the last three years.</p><p>UKEF classifies countries as per the World Bank classification system, where countries are divided into four income categories – low, lower-middle, upper-middle and high-income. These are now promoted widely within DIT’s International network.</p><p> </p><p>There were 69 investment projects that landed in the East Midlands in tax year 2018-2019, with 1,823 associated new jobs.</p><p> </p><p>On 30 July the first East Midlands proposition within DIT’s High Potential Opportunities programme was launched. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/07/2019 answer text <p>All export licence applications, including for Hong Kong, are assessed on a case-by-case basis against the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria taking into account all relevant factors at the time of the application, including how the goods will be used. There was one licence issued to Hong Kong for telecommunications equipment in the first quarter of 2019, for use in counter terrorism, counter narcotics, counter trafficking and search and rescue operations. We draw on a range of sources in making our assessments, including our overseas network. Risks around human rights violations or abuses are a key part of our assessment.
